if i bought a brand new fuel pump would that regulator be on there?

and why i ask this is my truck has a 162k

if i'm pulling the tank it would be pretty easy to slap a new fuel pump in it that way i don't feel like a loser when it goes out a week after i replace the regulator

Go with the denso (OEM) or Delphi ones.

 

My advice in the fuel pump, is never buy 1 from airtex. That brand has never last more than 1 year in any vehicle I have replaced them in. I love Denso, Carter & Delphi are my favs on those. And yes, always seems easier to remove the bed than drop the tank.

 

really remove the bed? lol i'll pass i have a 5 ton car lift in my shop so its i'll just lift the truck up when i drop the tank

 

Remember, the tank is long. If there is any gas in it, it will slosh & fall off any support you may have for it. Removing the bed sounds big if you have not done it before, but it is really easy. Remove the tail lights, poke the wires back through the holes, undo 8 bolts from underneath, then have 1 or more friends lift it off & set it back far enough to access the pump. I have done it both ways & trust me, the bed removal is easier than you think. Also, make sure to use a dry paint brush or stiff nylon brush to cut loose all the debris around the top of the tank, then vac it off completely because if any of it gets in the tank, it can do no good. Good luck no matter how you choose to do it!

 

alright well i'll ponder each idea.... i've had the bed off before i've swapped beds on my truck about a year ago... so it ain't to bad
