Rear axle upgrade

I think big green is talking about his rear axle.
Peshewa which axle are you talking about?
The most popular swap is dana 60's front and rear. Also I would look for the axles with 4.11 gears theres few of them, so you might have to search everywhere.
Also I think 2000+ rams came with dual piston calipers in the front, and some had disc brakes in the rear.
Others will chime in and correct me

Well guys, I have rear drums & my 2nd gen is a 2wd. My goal here is to simply have modern suspension. I have driven older chevy trucks that had the double triangulated rear with coil overs and some sand bags in the back, and even though they were not lowered, they were able to corner much more like a modern car. That is what I am after. I know how to make the 4 link set up I want without a kit, I just need more info on what rear end options are going to be good for me. I know in my area, a lot of folks like the rear axle from the exploders with the 9 inch in the back. Many of those have disc brakes already & are known to be tough, but I have this aversion to fords.

How are you breaking Dana 60's?
The shop doesn't know because nobody breaks Dana 60's... they are a very strong axle, and are the bread and butter of the 4x4 world. if your having so much issues with them, i would 1) look into who's putting them together and what they are doing wrong, or 2) get yourself a set of 35 spline yukon shafts. You won't (should't) break those...
