Default What other 5.2s fit?

Will all 5.2 engines fit in my 98 1500 4x4? Mine has just over 200,000 miles and I'd like to go ahead and find another one and slowly start rebuilding one. Will a 5.2 out of a van, cherokee, durango and whatever else fit?

any 5.2 92? and up will work. (so long as it is a magnum engine.) Just make sure you use sensors and such for the correct year truck.

Thanks! I'm thinking I can pick one up for just under $500 and put it on a stand in my garage and should be a nice project for me to do with my sons!

That sounds like a good plan. Teaching your kids some of this stuff is ALWAYS a good thing.

Take the intake off your current motor, fix the plenum and swap it with the intake on the newer motor.

The year it was made. 93 and up are magnum engines. Should be casting numbers on the block, you can decode those to tell you what year.

for the magnum - i think the intake shape/look is also distinctive - but - the 5.9 and 5.2 magnums also look alike, so you probably should know the block numbers. i don't know them. you don't want to accidently get a 5.9, or you have to change more stuff including pcm tuning.
