Yes, or you will more than likely get CEL if reading on the front and rear CO2 are the same.

While the rear O2 sensor DOES appear to have some effect on fuel mixture..... You aren't REQUIRED to do it. My cat is gutted, and the rear O2 sensor I don't think has ever been out of the pipe...... I don't get a code, and I actually get halfway decent mileage for a heavy *** three quarter ton truck. You can do it anyway, as it is dirt cheap, and it most certainly won't hurt anything.

You're the kind of person deserving of a citation for stupid **** like that given how inconsiderate you are to young kids' ears as well as elderly.

JM effin' O though
Elderly won't be able to notice it's that loud and it's not like you have the kid sitting next to the exhaust, I can't stand a vehicle with a cat kills the motor and sound of it.

Personally I like to hear my motor helps you know when ****s wrong plus it's a safety thing, there is a reason why motorcycles are loud, if you hear it you look for it

Well hell, you get an A in Ignorance and at least a B in Self-Centered. Good for you, young one who ain't even on the track to manhood.

Us old pharts, our low frequency hearing is just fine. We can hear your loud exhaust just like we did 40 years ago. It's the higher tones of our grandkids and our wives, people who matter a helluva lot more than you do, that we cannot hear like we used to.

We also know that too much exhaust noise masks the more subtle sounds of engine failure, ticking lifters, intermittent ignition misses, and knocking rods. You? You're not going to notice those things until they get expensive because you're too infatuated with yourself and the attention you attract with too much exhaust noise.

And that's where I'm going to stop because as much as I want to speak my piece I want even more to avoid being banned from this fine forum.

is there a way to make the cat louder without fully gutting it...like part way gutting it?

There's a honeycomb structure on the inside, so I'm not sure that a partial gutting will do anything to help.

You could drop a few dollars for a Magana Flow High Flow Cat.

That would solve any clogged cat issues, and probably help loud'en it up a bit.
