got mine at advanced auto

also reading another post I slathered some high temp gasket sealer around the opening where the tube enters the water pump (not on the o-ring itself just at the opening of the water pump) the Doorman directions said smear some dielectric grease on the o-ring to help seat it into position.

I feal your pain dude, i had the same damn problem... This O ring design is really bad..
They dont sell the correct O ring by itself ANYWHERE.. The o ring diameter they sell but the thickness for these o rings they sell are too thick.. The one for this tube is thin..
The only way you are going to get another one is from a waterpump box as they always come with one. Or buy another tube from advance auto parts, or autozone.
I got mine from autozone, the tube obviously i couldnt use because my Jeep uses a really long metal tube vs the short ones dodge has but the o ring is the correct one.. I also went to the auto parts store where i got my waterpump from told em it didnt come with a o ring. They pulled out another box and gave me the o ring in it.
So i managed in all to have 2 o rings, i have 1 extra in my o ring kit, and the other one i managed to get it on correctly.
When you put the new one on the tube, get some butter or engine oil and lube it up. Then gently push the tube in, the tube has to be lined up perfectly straight with the hole.. It should go in pretty easy if its line up correctly... If not dont force it in or you will tear the o ring again
