Default Wont start when wet out??

Hey guys my 98 5.9 gasser wont start when its wet/damp out, it will turn over and over and over and chugg sometimes, and if by the grace of god it does start it runs on like 6 cylinders till it heats up then will run fine. I assumed it was the cap so i replaced the cap and rotor and that did nothing it still wont start. When its dry it fires right up first crank.

Is their anything else that would affect the starting when wet?

The distributor itself could be another place to look. Have a Grand Am the same way and thats whats wrong with it. Beyond that I dont know these trucks well enough to give you anywhere else to look.

Simple. Take a hairdryer to the PCM for about 5 mins. Crank over the engine, it should start. Either the connectors have gotten moisture in them to the PCM or the PCM PC board is going bad.

Do the 5.9 gas motors have a coil in the traditional sense?

What's a biblical coil?

No start when wet is generally a secondary ignition circuit problem, cap, rotor, or wires. (sometimes, but very rarely, plugs.)
