Fixed my transmission shuddering.. Guess what it was.. lol

Wow ok so after two hours I got two plugs out...They both look ok but they were only in half way!
Turns out the heads are so rusty that they actually expended and crushed the heat shield hole in on itself preventing a socket from going deep enough to drive the plugs all the way down!! I had a hell of a time even catching enough of the plug head to get it unthreaded. This thing is unbelievable!!
I tried opening the hole up and also removing the shields with no luck so far...I'm off to the hardware store to see if there are other compatible plugs with the bolt head further up the plug.... otherwise I may have to plug hole and dremel the opening out some.... cant wait to see how many plug holes holes are like this... funny the two plugs I pulled on the other side were ok before and dont have this issue

Just remove the heat shields. They really don't serve much of a purpose in any event. (aside from trapping crap in there.....)
Plugs not threaded all the way in would be a definite possibility of a miss....

Problem is, if you don't, all the crap that accumulates in the heat shields drops into the cylinders when you pull the plugs. Not going to do any immediate, noticeable damage, but, continuing to do so will eventually score cylinder walls.

OK finally got all the plugs changed.... only one looked slightly fouled the rest were all light brown somehow? Still shuddering in overdrive only.... couldn't fine the confession gauge and I don't have an extra hand to assist with that right now anyway so changing the cap and rotor and the new oxygen sensor is here but I don't see how that will help anything..

Light brown is good. That's the color they are supposed to be. (more of a tannish color...)
Which plugs was fouled?
If the cap is carboned up bad, it will give you poor spark at the cylinder. If it gets bad enough, the truck won't even run.
O2 sensor controls mixture within a few minutes of starting...... if it is lying..... the engine won't run right.
