Default brake pads have 4k and are cracking?

so when i did had my ball joints my buddy noticed my front brake pads were cracking.. and they have only like 4k miles on them.. and a life time warrenty so i got a new pair already... but i've had this problem alot before and its from the heat... and i'm not useing cheap pads either i get the best ones napa has in stock there were 89 dollars...

my friend said i should check in the slotted and cross drilled rotors to help keep the heat down

would the e bay ones like these be a good idea or ?

Im gonna say no to the slotted rotors bc with the compounds today you dont have to worry about the venting of the gasses as much like in the old days. Also whenever you need another brake job when the pads are worn, you cannot machine the rotors, you MUST replace them. To me, thats just an unneccessary expense for every brake job without any noticable gains. For $90 in pads, I would have just tried the EBC pads

Lifetime warranty means free replacement.

Did you cut the rotors when you replaced the pads? That nice glaze won't let them get a good grip, and basically all they do is heat up. At least its easier for the half-ton guys to get the rotors off.....

when did my brakes i replaced everything new rotors(front and brake) pads(front and back) and 4 new BRAND NEW NOT REMAN calipers

i know i get free replacment but still there is no reason for them to be cracking after 4 weeks...... cracking is when they get hot... so slotted rotors would at least keep the heat down

the best napa has is still not as good as semi performance pad like ebc, best way to fix the problem is check and replace rear brakes as needed and chnge driving style to lessen your braking, your young and almost always hard on brakes.

I have learned this somewhat and can get about 5k out of my pads unlike the 3k I used to get, but I know im bad on my brakes so I check them frequently

i'm actually pretty easy on my brakes.... unlike most young people... andm y fronts are the ones cracking.. not rear not sure why you said repalce rear brakes...

once this pads are worn out i guess i'm just gonna order up some EBC green stuff and slotted rotors... cause they gotta be better than stock rotors...

Do you drive with 2 feet and rest your left foot on the brake pedal?

5k? Really? Something is wrong there. If I don't get 50,000 on a set of pads I would get p***ed! Get the best pads you can afford, and as Hey You mentioned, turn rotors if they need it (or replace). Yota has over 260,000 on it, and pads replaced four times in it's life. Wife's car had over 100,000 before I changed them, and they were factory original (which was a surprise for OEM).

I hope you meant 50k instead of 5k!
