Question Axel seal!!

im trying to get instal my front passenger axel seal. i have a slide hammer and washer but its not seating correctly, a flat head just cuts thru it. its the one by the 4x4 shift fork. any ideas on how to get this seal seated? please help!!

all that link tells you is u need to press it from the inside, what kind of press do i need? theres not a whole lot of room to work in the axel shaft. i custom made a slide hammer... epic fail!! like the name of tool, pic of tool, and instructions would help me out alot

Piece of threaded rod, couple nuts, and some fat washers. (or, a socket that fits the seal nicely on that end....) assemble everything, and then use a the nut to apply pressure to the seal, to pull it into place.

so like a piece of all thread? should i not use a slide hammer?? i can weld anything together, i go to welding school.

Pulling it steadily is far better than pounding it quickly. Less likely to trash the seal.

good idea how am i going to keep the all thread steady? should i make like a tri pod thing to pull from the spin knuckle?

Nah. Once you get it in there, and snug it up, it will hold itself in place. You just want something on the outboard end that will let you use the nut to pull the all-thread to install the seal.
