Did you prime the pump ? And why start another thread? Just add it to the original one. This way people that want to reply, no the history of what's going on. Not to mention the fix if you get it figured out.

if you dont prime the pump its gong to take a while to get pressure(or not at all). i primed mine, and had pressure within 5-10 seconds of first start-up after replacing pump, and screen. just did it to mine on dec. 4th. i have a mech. gauge too, and have great oil psi. time to take it back apart and prime it and do it right.

here is the correct way to do it.

This is where having a Haynes manual and downloaded one of the free service manuals form the FAQ/DIY section comes into play. And didn't the pump come with directions? Not to mention, are you sure the shaft was aligned and not twisted or broke?

It won't come out the pickup tube, you will just fill the cavity available, down to the gears. This is a necessary step though...... you 'might' be able to pull the sending unit, and use a funnel to fill the upper part with oil..... maybe. Pulling the pan again would be safest though. While you are in there, you can also have a look at your rod/main bearings, and see if you have done any damage.

when i primed mine i did it until it came out the pickup tube just to be on the safe side, seeing how it was the first time id ever done anything like it before.

What pump did you use? Mine filled up, and I didn't see any out the pickup tube until I turned the pump.
