what could it be?? Possible siezed engine.
.......fish oil is probably "oily."
And "harmful to practically no type material.." is pretty vague in all practicality.
Gees, chill out. No one slammed WD40. I just commented that "I" make a point not to get anything oily on belts." That's my preference and has been working for me for over 40 years!
EKAPLAN, hope flipping the belt works. This is the first vehicle I've had with a ribbed belt, so if it works, I will keep this in mind if I ever have the same problem. Hope the new engine performs well!
Thanks for the help. I drove it around town. So far no problem. The motor runs strong but i have a stumble starting sometimes. Only sometimes, and the majority are normal but i just fired it up now and it kinda skipped when it was turning then fired up and a stumbling idle for about thirty seconds. Lights were flickering a bit too. Then it just stopped. Any idea what that can be? I'm trying to knock out all the little things as soon as possible to make this reliable in my head lol
Maybe double check the connections at the PDC and the main ground. Don;t know what else would cause that at start. May have some other grounds that were not put back on. I believe there are a couple of them.
You guys can make fun of the WD40 uses if you want to but it will damn sure stop a squeaking belt. Been using it for years way back before belt dressing was ever thought about.
Have you ever had and engine that would start because of moisture inside the dist cap? Remove the cap and spray the inside plus the inside of the dist. Replace the cap and start the engine. Works EVERY TIME! WD40 will chase out the water and it doesn't kill the spark. It will cure any moisture problem on ANY electrical connection plus stop corrosion. I keep one of the small spray cans in the glove compartment of my truck plus the wife's Jeep GC. You'd be surprised how many things it can fix!

Man, the stuff rocks, I can't tell you it doesn't.. I was just pokin a little fun at your expense.. wasn't meant nasty, dude..
However...
WD-40 is a water displacer and mild solvent.. the solvent part is no good for belts.. what happens is the stuff infiltrates the fiber and creates separation.. that shortens the life of the belt, as the fibers separated aren't as strong as they are bundled..
I'm sure the companies web site will argue this point, but it doesn't make it wrong.. other than that, its good stuff and I use it all the time on all kinds of stuff.. just not my guns, my belts, or my flounder..
