Well, if it appears to be working right....... There may be a test procedure in the service manual, but, mine is 96, and the system is completely different... so, I can't be a lotta help in that department.

Is that canister on the passenger side the purge solenoid or is there another canister next to it? Can't remember. I'm about to have someone smoke it this weekend and possibly replace everything associated lol then order injectors. They're so damn expensive though and I don't have the time to pull each and check. Any suggestions? What about the clunk on start sometimes?

Purge solenoid should be under the hood somewhere. The canister is the vapor recovery canister. (captures gas fumes from the tank, so they don't just vent to atmosphere, like the good ol' days.) I think your purge valve is up on the passenger fender, along with the leak detection pump??

I'll just take a pic and post tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for the replies so far. I've also noticed a huge decrease in gas mileage. I'm going down below 6 mpg. Really pissing me off lol something is causing all of this

Does your temp gauge tell you the engine is running at operating temp?

Do you mean "normal" or when I restart is it at operating temp? Not sure what you're asking but my temp is always good. I constantly watch the gauges. New thermostat too. Oil pressure reads normal throughout. But for the quick start syndrome I've never paid any attention to temp. I'm sure its operating temp since its only been off a few min. I was thinking a leaky injector and there's risidual fuel that's causing problems.

I'm just trying to rule out little things before paying for injectors but fearing failure again lol could just be a vac leak

Have you taken your injectors out to have a look at 'em? Might just be gunk on top of them, restricting the inlet.

If your temp gauge behaves normally, that rules out that possibility.

I haven't pulled them since they put the motor in. Said they looked good. It's been about a month. I tried to drive it a lot to get to as many problems as soon as possible. Maybe 8-900 miles so far on it ( a lot for me in a month)

And the temp gauge is indeed one thing that works lol

I had it smoked today and no vacuum leaks anywhere. They did a visual check also. They got a low TPS voltage and said when its running rough for that minute that its a #5 and #7 cylinder miss. Then it clears and goes away. What you guys think? Injectors? I know they're temp effected.
