Whiplash cam starts building power to high in the RPM range for your purposes then. (You would lose a NOTICEABLE amount of bottom end grunt, exactly what you DON'T want for the way you use your truck.) Not to mention that in order to get the best results from it, you would also need to do heads, and intake...... and a custom tune.
You want something that is going to build power from idle, or, at the very highest 1500 RPM, to whatever. It won't give you the big power numbers in the upper RPM range, but, that's not where you use your truck the most anyway..... of course, depending on which cam you pick, you might STILL need a custom tune to run it properly. Depending on the year of your truck (which should be in your profile, or sig, by the way.....) that can be as easy as an sct tuner, or, as difficult as having to send your PCM out to be reprogrammed. Possibly more than once. (at additional cost each time.)
A really easy solution would be Harland Sharp NON-adjustable Roller Rockers in a 1.7 ratio. Simple bolt-on installation, no custom tune needed, and the same end effect as a meaner cam. It effectively gives you more duration at .050" lift, (area under the curve), and more lift. Good for 10 to 20 horsepower, and a wider power band.

That'll need new springs and such, as noted in the description.... but, this part:
These cams will not produce as much vacuum as the stock cams.
Makes me nervous. The 107* LSA makes me question that it's really a low-end kind of cam too...... I think there are better grinds to be had, and prolly for cheaper too.

RV cam: PM B1llyW on Bionic dodge and he will give you the specs of that cam.
15 HP less than a hemi and more torque, that is what you want.

B1llyW used to own KRC performance. He knows his stuff. Or you can get this cam from Rich at Hipotek: Pretty much the same thing

You will really like these camshafts. Very stronge torque and daily driver-ness.

Would the cam from hipotek have to have new springs and such?
