It sounds like what I would be happiest with is a set-up like dlyter09 has, but i would need to switch to the Sport headlights. How hard is that swap and how do I do it?

I think the housings themselves will prolly just bolt right in. You would have to do some surgery on the harness though...... 98 and up (99 and up?) sports were a four headlight system.

I have recently installed a set of sport headlights, they bolt right in so that’s easy, but I had to cut a 3” hole in the rad cradle behind the other set of bulbs so I could have access to them. I am making up my own wiring harness using relay's and an on/off/on switch mounted in my A pillar gauge holder to control the other set of bulbs.

I cant understand why in the hell the the sport model is so much different.. I was looking to replace the housings and everything said it wont fit the sport.. The two that would fit were well out of my price range... I hate this whole having a sport...

yeah I have one fender from a sport and one non..(truck is a Frankenstein special).. the steel behind the housing has different holes... I had to hammer a bit to get it to work but they do.

As far as wiring goes, do you think I could just order the heavy duty headlight harness from LMC and just get the sport ones rather than the normal one? Would that be everything I need or not?

as far as I know the only difference in wiring between the sport and regular headlight socket plugs is two wires have to be swapped around... they are the same 3 pin plug used in both... you just need to either move the pins around or cut and swap the two wires and reconnect them...unless the sport has a plug for each bulb.
when It come to headlights I know LMC wanted over $100.00 more for the same projectors I have than I paid for them...Which is normal for most catalog companies.

Ebay specials I picked up three years ago..they arent HID they use 4 bulbs...H7 and I cant remember the other ones... they work pretty good... one of the halo rings burnt out though... I may try to get HID lights for them since they are projectors and have a decent focused pattern...

I put the projectors in my 99 and the light is good, but I still have a problem with the High/ low beam light in the truck stays on. I was told today they may need a better ground to the body. I also ordered a HID kit last night so after reading this I'm glad I have the projectors. I'm also have a problem now with my plow head lights and I know it has something to do with my truck head lights. Any one here had this problem?
