Heres whats going on. I have a 1998 Dodge ram 2500 5.9L Magnum. I bought an SCT tuner from hemifever, because i heard nothing but good things from him. I got it a few days ago, installed the 93 tune, wentthrough successfully with no problem. Right from when i started it I could tell it idles at a lower RPM, and throttle response is much better....BUT...IT WONT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. i dont have any other mods to my truck at the moment, i got the "can" tuning or whatever for bolt on mods. Yes, i tried adjsuting the TV cable both direction, and it didnt do jack. Why is it doing that!! I thought it may just shift at a higher RPM, so itried drivign it to work which luckily is only a few miles, because I DROVE THE WHOLE WAY IN 1ST GEAR. Even at 5500 RPM, it didnt shift. Help? Im infuriated.

And yes, it does the same with all 3 tunes running 93 octane gas.

Put it back to the stock tune, if it shifts normally, give hemifever a shout, and let him know what's up.

I have set it back to stock, and contacted hemifever. I sent him another update this morning, he hasnt replied yet, but its exactly what i already told him. It programs back to stock fine, and flashes tunes fine. it just wont shift.

Maybe the problem has nothing to do with the tuner. Maybe the Governor Solenoid needs replace or one of the speed sensors are bad. Have you checked for any stored codes?

Ok, my problem is resolved. turns out it was all my fault, because i gave him the wrong pcm p/n because its only written in pen on the front and it was hard to make out. I gave him one for a manual 5.2L.......hahah, close enough right? So everything is fixed. Thanks anyway!
