Transmission lines leaking help!

If you look at the line that goes to the lower fitting on the radiator, it will have the quick-connect feller at the radiator, a length of soft line, a metal 'round thing', and then a fitting for a flare nut. The 'round thing' is the check valve.

I think you can replace the o-rings in the quick connects...... if not, the 'help' section at the parts store has replacement fittings.

There is a tsb on this. The connectors are known for melting and leaking and this is most likely the cause for a loss of pressure in your trans. You'll probably have to go to a ram dealer to get new ones.

don't waste a lot of money buying stock type lines/hoses with the quick connect fittings. note which line is top vs bottom. cut the old hoses off and replace with "auto transmission hose" at $3/foot from your local auto parts store. use a tubing cutter to cut the hard line behind the check valve. a dremel tool is handy for cutting through the crimp.

install the hose and double clamp it. total cost will be under $10.
