Default A/C - Heater controls

Since I have owned my 01 Ram 1500, the climate control **** fails to adjust from anything other than wide open hot or wide open cool...there is no in-between. I have considered getting a replacement control for the dash from a salvage yard but I am curious if anyone else has expereienced this and if it potentially leads to a bigger problem somewhere. Is there any way to do a quick resistance check on the control **** to determine of it is functioning?

You probably have a broken coupler on the the little servo motor that actually moves the blend door. Have a look Here, and see if that doesn't match your symptoms.

how ironic. The reason I posted this was because I watched an episode of 'Truck U' last weekend where they were installing that same product. I guess I'll have to tear the dash apart to confirm, huh?

No you don't. It's not real easy to get to one of the screws for the little motor, but you don't have to tear the dash out.

Bottom of the heater box, right above the trans tunnel on the passenger side. Stick your head under there, you will see it.

Thanks guys, I found it. It looks like the motor operates when changing position with the temp control so I'm sure its a broken coupler. As soon as I get a chance to remove it I will confirm.
