tranny sliping at highway speed?
I just acciured this 99 dodge 1/2 ton with 5.2l. yesterday the transmision slipped once in an all day driving experience. Now today it slipped every mile for the eight mile ride home. For a second i thought it did it when i hit a bump, that was just a coicedence(/). What might this problem be? help?? did i get a lemon!!??

your right not lemon. if anything is wrong it is my fualt. I checked fluid it was a below normal(hash marks) but it looked good and red no butning smell. filled and went for ride. Still did it twice in a decent drive. Not as continuous as when on way home earlier.
Well it is a momemtary issue. steady speed and throttle input... yes. I guess you could say the rpm only rises a little. when it does it it is a " smooth" rise and fall to normal rmp. What are you thinking Ramzy?
He's thinkin' it isn't slipping, but, TCC (torque converter clutch) is disengaging/re-engaging. It will give you a 200-300 RPM rise on the tach, and then drop back down. Usually solved by replacing the Throttle Position Sensor. (TPS)
Common issue on our truck. 9 times out of 10 it is the TPS (throttle position sensor). Do a quick search here and you will find out the procedures for checking it. Im posting from my phone today so I cant get you a link.
Do the test and if it fails replace it. It's cheap and easy, which on our trucks is rare. If you replace it make sure you disconnect the battery first.
EDIT: ---^^Darn HeyYou types fast.
