https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-controls.html this might be your issue. That took all of four seconds of actual looking to find that seeing how there always a ton of new threads on these same heat issues this time every year... honestly you will get your answers a lot quicker by just using the search feature.

On 96 the temp door is cable controlled. If you can hear the door thump as you switch from one extreme to the other (on temp), it's working right. Could be a clogged heater core, or just a big air bubble in there.

+1 on the control cable and the clogged heater core. Here is the cable check and adjustment out of the 98 service manual. Don't know if it applies to a 96.

Thanks for the info. I tried the search feature as the wise-*** stated, but got no real info. I knew mine didn't have the power actuater. How do you get to the cable on the heater box end? Does the dash have to come out? As I said, fan blows in all positions but no heat.

Well, as far as the wise azz goes, that's usually my job. LOL And he is right. But I'm taking a break since it's "the season"

Remove the black dash bezel, and you'll see screws that hold the heat/ac control unit. That's one end of the cable, the other end is in the same spot as the electronically controlled unit.

Your not looking in the right spot then, simple as that.

I don't think the cable goes to the same spot as the cute little motor. Mine doesn't go there either. Just a stub of axle sticking out of the box..... I think the cable hits that axle on top..... I don't know how 'easy' that is to get to....
