feeling a lot better and made it into work (cant wait to work on the truck and do the compression test this weekend so i can do plenum and new exhaust. anyways at lunch time today i took a closer look at the broken vac line i have coming out of the firewall on the passenger side. its the one that goes all the way into the dash However theres still about and inch or two coming out that i hadnt noticed before. so insted of pulling the the whole dash im wondering (if only a temp fix till spring) if theres a piece i can buy from the dealership or autozone or some where that i can buy to reconnect the two pieces. i might be able to electrical tape the two back together but is there like a hallow tube that has two ends that i can enter both pieces into to reconnect them together? or could i rig something up??? ill redo the line in the spring just trying to post pone pulling the dash and all that for now... its cold out. lol
Any of those stores will have an assortment pack of fittings specifically for vacuum shiz. I'm sure HeyYou's suggestion will work too. Just thought to mention that they are at the store.
thanks guys. as you know im new too all this and just discovering my interest. I will stop by autozone at lunch or after work (end of month so i work LATE!) and fix that up. you know my truck is coming along nicely... the fog lights started working when i put a new battery in. this vac leak is about to get done. its all coming together. still gotto pull the switch and get my dash lights on, its a pain sometimes not knowing how fast ur driving on the highway. anyways thanks again
Just keep plugging away. You are making progress. It takes a while to get all of the issues resolved on a vehicle as you have to deal with neglect and abuse by prevuous owners.
IF you are having an issue, you should start a new thread, rather than resurrect a 7 year old one. Most of the folks in this thread aren't around any more.
