Default 6x6 conversion

looking to do a 6x6 conversion on my 95 ram 2500 v10 4wd...plan on using three 2.5 ton rockwell axles, detroit lockers for the rear axles, an ARB air locker for the front axle, a 5.5" fabtech lift kit up front, and a custom suspension lift for the rear including coil springs and ladder bars

any thoughts or suggestions?

Is the truck gonna be a play truck or DD?

Why would you use coil's and not leaf's in the rear? Also why not just use Detroit's for all 3 axles?

Sounds like a TON of fabrication and body work.

If you got the funds and a nice dry shop to work in then go for it! Pictures....

right now the truck is a DD but i'm looking to turn it into an off-road rig

i want coil springs in the rear so that it will have better articulation, suspension travel for when i'm going over rocks

as for the locker, having a detroit locker on the front axle of a vehicle that may still see the highway is not good for the front end parts...having the selectable locker will still allow for highway use as well as give me the off-road performance i'm looking for

It should be simpler and easier to do a coil set up in the rear insted of leafs because of room. And i would use a triangualted 4link instead of traction bars. If you used traction bars then you would limit flex. Get on pirate 4x4 or pavementsucks.com. they will be able to provied you with alot more info on any suspension questions you may have. Also if your will be running rockwells then you should go up to at least 42 inch or bigger tires, rockwells are overkill for 37's

I do like the idea of the 4-link suspension in the rear...just wanted to go a little bit of different route than Stan Prueitt's 6x6, see how it performed, and then make the adjustment if I wasn't satisfied

was already planning on running 40-inch tires, I like the 37" super swamper SSR radials I currently have on my truck, so I'm gonna look for a similar tread pattern from Interco since they do not make 40-inch SSR radials, I may have to end up with a bias ply tire
