If you decide to rattle can it, I would only VERY lightly wet sand with 3000 grit and very easily buff the blend areas only.
Spray paint is very thin, so you won't get enough paint build to sand and buff the way you normaly could with "real" paint and a spray gun. Even the can clear is real thin.
