Default best matching paint?

My roof has pretty well oxidized and clear coat is essentially gone. Was gonna sand it and just use some high end spray paint to cover up the white (anything will look better than that sore spot). My truck is black by the way. Does anyone have any suggestions to this matter?

I'm curious as well. My truck is dark green, and has the same problem.

Paint codes should be on a sticker somewhere on the truck. If not, get your build sheet, and it will be on there.

Oxidization is prolly just the clear coat though. You might be able to either buff it out, or wet sand it away, and just re-clear it.

Well then mine has done more than oxidize. My roof is now patchy white on a black truck. I was more looking for just an aerosol.

Me too!

Most likely the clear his totally disentagrated. You can sand with 400 or 600 grit and come to past where the clear is gone. Wash with oil and tar grease removers (I use rustoleum). You can then spray on clear (I am using PPG). Stay 2 coats minimal. After complete dry, sand with 1200 grit lightly. Then use 3M compound and buff. It will look like new. Take your time and do not rush.

Cost should not run more than about $75 depending on whether you can get clear in a quart container ( I bought gallon cans and do not know if they sell in qt containers).

So you have a white patch on the roof of your black truck? Honestly if it were me, since I'm not the greatest at painting, I'd probably stop by a body shop and get an estimate. They're free!....Usually....

I'm a little confused myself how clear coat disintegrating on a black trucks leads to white spots. Unless somehow the clear coat disintegrating turns paint white...
