I can't find any good troubleshooting information on that one.... Given that it is differentiating to bank 2 though, kind makes me wonder if that isn't cam sensor related.

I don't remember the whole thread.... have you changed the cam or crank sensors? And if so, what brand replacements?

cam and crank sensors are new from about 2 weeks ago. the crank sensor i think is bwd and the cam sensor is masterpro. ive been told that these trucks dont like aftermarket cam or cranks sensors but im trying to avoid putting new ones in again just because i already spent about 100 on these sensors 2 weeks ago.

these problems started happening when it was telling me that it was losing connection with the cam and crank sensors so i replaced them. after replacing them the truck wouldnt run. it would start but not run. i had it brought to the shop and they told me that the dist was off and that he corrected it. once i got it back from the shop these problems popped up. just to clarify what has happend already.

Do you still have the old sensors? I'd put the old cam sensor back in and see what it does. And make sure the rotor is on all the way.

the guy that was helping me moved it and he doesnt remember where he put it. i wanted to keep it just in case i may have to put it back in but i asked him a few days ago where it was and he said he doesnt remember what he did with it. next time i'll keep him away from the parts. and i plan on going into it tomaro to replace the timing chain since its never been done so i'll also check the rotor.

I think that code is a generic obd2 code(not related to a dodge ram), it is most likely related to all the miss fire codes you have. I bet one or both sensors are no good(or not plugged in all the way), that along with fuel sync being off now, who knows. I do also see the timing chain being stretched real bad a possibility. And make sure after the timing chain cover is removed, that the marks on the gears are lined up and just install the new gears in the same position without rotating the motor in any way. And what scanner are you using? Do the key trick and see what comes up.

It will supposedly make the check engine lite blink codes at you. Not sure if it actually works on the 96 though.....

I think what he is suspecting is the scanner you are using is misinterpreting some data, and actually reporting a wrong code.

Given that you are misfiring on EVERY cylinder...... How is your coil? Dist cap? The crank sensor CAN have an effect on spark quality as well. If it doesn't send sufficient signal to clue in the PCM that the crank is in the right spot for a spark event, you get a weak spark.... if any at all. it's also common knowledge that these trucks HATE aftermarket parts in critical locations......
