I think he was refering to the spark plugs style coil wire.

yea that one.

and as for checking the spark, if i have a weak spark should i lean more towards the crank sensor?

and a question about the timing chain. IF my fuel sync is off, will i be able to change the timing belt? will changing it have any effect of the fuel sync? basicaly what im asking is can i change it while the engine is still having these problems or should i wait until i KNOW the fuel sync is set right?

I would check the coil, can be done by looking in a HAynes. And you can set the fuel sync after or before timing chain. Doesn't really matter. I'd try it before just to see what it does.

I would change the timing set first, and then have fuel sync reset. (reason being, having it set with a sloppy chain will change sync when you replace it.)

If you have consistent weak spark on one or more cylinders, but, good spark on others, crank sensor is where I would look first.

the thing im affraid of is that i dont know how well the fuel sync is set. i dont want to put a new chain on there and have that throw off the fuel sync just enough to not run.... again.

Of course I would reset it after the TC change also.

It would probably just run crappy..... or... crappiER. We had a member that had fuel sync 180 degrees out, and his truck still ran.

And yep, that one will work fine.
