If the dizzy has been moved the fuel sync needs to be set. Dealership or mechanic should be able to do it. Whether itll cause missfire or not Im not sure.

do you think if the fuel sync hasnt been reset that it would trigger the position system code? also when im going at a low speed like 5-10 mph and i take my foot off the gas, the rpms drop to around 400 rpms and then bounce back up. i dont know if that comfirms your thought of the fuel sync or not but i figured id throw that out there.

Honestly, I dont know. I do know that turning the dizzy controls fuel sync and not timing though. Someone else will chime in that knows more about this.

My throttle position sensor was shot and caused the same issues your having. Might be a possibility. Could check your connections to it, spray the connections with electrical component cleaner, etc. Just a thought...

It threw a code but I can't remember for the life of me what it was. But yes, it missed and the idle was bad, tried to die, if I slightly revved it, she would die.

You can also test the TPS (details in FSM). But as Kejobe stated, if Dit has been moved, then fuel sync is off and needs to be reset. Like others, I do not know what codes it may throw, but it stands to reason that it will run like crap at the very least. I would check TPS and get fuel sync reset and see if that clears everything up. If idle drops to 400 rpm, then I would also suggest checking/cleaning IAC as well. (make sure to disconnect battery while doing thses to reset PCM)

when you guys say that the fuel sync need to be set.. isnt that just using one of them fancy scan tools and turning the dist. untill its at 0 degrees? and if thats the case i think the shop i had my truck brought to already did that. im going to double check that though because i guess the shop i brought it to is known for doin half-a**ed jobs. as for the IAC- i cleaned that up and hooked back together. so if the initial ignition timing is right, the fuel sync is wright, and the cam and crank sensors are new, where should i go from there?

Check with the shop, and verify they set fuel sync. Getting any codes?
