body panel compatibility
Hey all, I have a v6 2001 regular cab Ram with some messed up body panels. I bought it for a small amount form a local drunk that - literally - enjoys taking nice cars & trucks to the local demo derby just because he has cash to throw away. The front end is a duct tape special for both headlights, which I now have on order along with a front bumper & door mirror. The driver's (left) side door & front fender are beyond repair. I found rust free ones today at a scrap yard from a 96 or 98 model. My question is, will the door & fender from an older ram work on mine? I know there some mechanical eccentricities that only make it compatible with 2000 & 2001 only, but I am unsure if that translates to body panels also. Btw, I have no power windows or locks, will be staying all manual for now. Please help as I am very eager to go to the scrap yard & toss down the $125 for both parts asap!

It should be mentioned that dodge considers the extended cab with rear sucide half doors a "Quad cab" (from what I was just told on another thread yesterday)).... The same truck without opening rear doors is an "extended cab" and they sold both at the same time to dump old stock apparently between 98-01...
If you have an older style extended cab than your doors have the rounded lower corner and will fit the regular cab I believe, if its got the sharp lower corner its from a "quad cab"...
