I find it hard to believe all your heat settings work.

As far as the cat goes, it's part of the engine pipes(as in one piece). You can get a direct fit replacement, or a universal fit cat that has the 2 inlets.

Forgot to check all the hvac settings. But ive got to go return a few burrowed tools to autozone so i will check em then.

Also i have a question about removing the cat. How exactly do you do it? 2 pipes go in from the headers and 1 comes out. If you cut the cat out you would have 3 pipes correct?

Edit: All the hvac controls work. When i get up to a certain speed it seems to change settings though. about 45 mph or so. But its done that before. normally it does it at about 60-65 mph though.
Read this thread and fix that broken tube. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ild-vents.html

Dash has to come out doesn't it?

I know i could buy a new cat but i dont want to spend the money. Right now i have the exhaust unbolted at the tail of the headers, But i need a more permanent solution. cheaply...

my new cat bolted in...I did it monday..took like an hour and a half. (2 with trip back to autozone for right clamp). You have the newer exhaust setup I think which means your is one input and one output with a y pipe before the cat.... I wonder how hard it is to interchange them and if theres any advantages... (my old cat was hollowed out by last owner.) I have more torgue and better acceleration now with the high flow magnaflow but that could also be from the lack of holes in the pipe or the 02 sensor I replaced too...

Wonder if that line went to the vacuum reservoir? Check and make sure you don't have any other broken lines around there..... Also, see if you have check valves in the vacuum lines, and if they are working. (sounds like you have a case of wild vents.)

You can hollow out the cat... just cut the pipe right behind it, bust up what's in there, rev the engine a couple times to blow it out.....

@Tim Mine has 2 pipes going into the cat and one coming out. This is similar to how mine looks but the o2 sensor screws into one of the tubes, Not the cat itself.

My vents all work fine except when i get up to about 60mph. Its been this way for quite sometime. During the summer is when i notice it more. During the winter i havnt even noticed it at all. Im pretty sure it is a bad check valve i just have never had time to go hunt for one.

As for the hose i broke yesterday i was able to use a screw to pull it out about an inch so it may be an easy fix afterall. Maybe when i replace my heater core i will replace that hose at the same time.

Edit: Also something that surprised was people always say they loose oil when the plenum blows. But my oil level is at the normal level. Im at 78345 miles and my last oil change was at 76580 miles

thats the type I have...I bought a magnaflow system it comes with the pipes to hook directly to exhaust manifold and 2.5" pipe to muffler.... got got mine for about 187.00 shipped from a store on ebay.. you can install with exhaust clamps.

Ok i hollowed it out today. Truck seems to run great. I have another question though. I was watching youtube videos. This one in particular. And it says removing the cat will cause the rear o2 sensor to run the truck in a fuel rich condition. Is this true?

And weather it is or not are there any negative side effects of running with no cat? towards the truck not the environment.

*It did on my truck....with the cat hollowed out (I didnt know the PO did it) my long term fuel trim was around 14% after warming up....now it goes down to 2% on the same 2 mile drive with the new high flow cat...

I know a few ram guys in my town that removed the cat. One guy got a code & did the double spark plug non-fouler trick mentioned in a sticky to fix it, but most folks do not have that issues.
