Default Dropping valve body

When I drop the valve body do I need a new gasket or will the old one be ok as long as it isn't torn?

Default valve body

Are you talking about the pan gasket or govenor body gasket?
Either way unless the pan gasket has been replaced with the factory reuseble one you will want to replace.
Good luck..

I always tend to replace gaskets especially since their cost is relatively negligible. That is what I'd recommend.

VB gasket well be fine to reuse. Only 100 in/lbs. on the VB mounting bolts, and pay attention to where you pull them from as there are at least 3 different lengths.

I took the governor body off and it had a gasket so I just assumed to vb would too. I've got to replace a tcc solenoid.

Yep. Gasket on governor body and TC and OD solenoids, but not for valve body itself.
