Oil pan gasket/rear main seal (oil leak)
once again you settle my nerves i was looking at the picture on the DIY for the rear main seal from pavement sucks, and his bearing cover didnt have a hole in it. how jagged the metal is makes it look like its a missing section. Am i just over paranoid about this stuff? because that hole does not look like its supposed to be there
Two holes for the main cap bolts.
Two holes for the oil pump bolts.
One hole for the oil pump drive shaft to go thru.
One hole with the ugly edges for oil to go thru.
You have the correct number of holes. Just the oil hole is a little messy. If you have the right tools, just clean it up a bit, and call it good. If you don't, just make sure there isn't any casting crap the can break off easily, and get into the rest of the motor.

That casting is made with a mold made out of sand with a catalyst to make it hard. Sand is good for mold, and is cheap. But it is not precise. When the casting is made, it then goes to a "rapper" which is basically a machine that beats it to breakl up the sand. Then the surfaces are machines as needed, often leaving holes jagged around the edge. Like HeyYou stated, you can clean it up, but it will have no adverse effect as is.
And there is nothing wrong with asking if there is something that confuses you. That's how we learn.

Wrapped it up jyst now and took blue for a drive he responded very well to the new pump. I want to give all of you who helped a big thank you. And thise that made me laugh when I was losing my mind... Thanks guys..... Plenums next!
Hey, glad you got it done and it works well. Don't let a stupid piece of machinery get to you. You ARE smarter than it is! (but they are a little crafty sometime!)
Good luck with the plenum. Damn thing will feel like a new truck when you are done!
I'm gonna actually replace my oil pump and pan gasket by the end of the month.
