Top cigarette lighter works but the bottom one doesn't
See...I was trying to behave and not put HeyYou on the spot....like asking what the younger girl should be wearing, where he would suggest standing.......
Anyways, found out the fuse in the box just wasn't there, replaced it and it works good, except it is always on
what's a good ignition source to be using because I want to hard wire (with a fuse) my radar detector for a cleaner dashboard. Thanks! I used my remote on my amp for my transmission temperature gauge but I don't want to keep using that because sometimes I don't use my stereo and I want to always know if there's a cop nearby.

thats awesome. How'd you manage that one?
There is an "add a fuse" that you can get. It has one wire hanging out to connect to and plugs into switched fuse slot. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DURITE-CIRCU...item45fda26b49

I think I am going to buy a couple. I keep forgetting. These are handy and make for a cleaner installation than cutting and splicing into other circuits.

How do replace the cigarette lighter in a 1996 Dodge Ram truck? When you remove the ash tray right next to it, it's too small to get your hand in there to take the nut off. I'm assuming that's how it is held in there? Also, is there an inline fuse on this? The one in the panel is not blown.
When you removed the faceplate, were you able to get your hand in there to access the lighter socket? I can't see how taking them two screws out gives you more room to access that? looks like them two screws just holds the bracket for the ash tray???
