passenger door lock

Angry passenger door lock

1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9 v8, passenger door lock won't work from the switch. replaced switch still doesnt work. works fine from driver side and from the remote chased wires through the door look like new not broken at a loss any suggestions,

check all the wires and plug ins. if those check out good, its probly the power lock motor. if you dont have the FSM downloaded i suggest getting it. its in the DIY-FAQs seciton. it has a bunch of good info on power locks, windows ect...

it's not the motor, if it works from the driver side.

It seems to be a broken wire. Check for power at the red wire of the passenger switch connector. If there isn't 12V check it at the 16-pin connector behind the passenger kickpanel (Pin 1, red wire). If there is also no power then you have broken wire somewhere under dash. If there is power the you have a broken wire inside the door.

Couldn't it be a bad switch? If it works from the driver side and the keyless entry the wiring should be fine

if the keyless entry and driver's side switch work, then yes it could be the switch however the OP said that it was replaced. it could be the wires going from the passenger's switch to the motor that could be bad.

thanks for suggestions am going to check for broken wire behing passenger kick panel let y'all know what i find thanks again
