Do not forget to check the FUSES - most overlooked thing with starting issues. I say find out what is wrong before dumping money for parts when you are guessing. if you hold a volt meter on the battery terminals while it is being cranked over, it should be above 10 volts, below that indicates something needs attention. I have read that the control unit is also responsible for voltage regulation, so that is a possibility. If new cables are in order, you can make your own. I use double insulated super flexible welder ground wire meant for welding machines available by the foot from farm & fleet type stores. That allows me to use a larger gauge & have better connections also. Don;t let the frustration force you into a corner, take a moment of zen for yourself & go about it calmly then you will find the answer faster. Good luck!

Any local battery or starter shop would make you new cables I dont think there is anything special about these.

You can get new ends at auto zone for the battery side just cut the old ends off, strip the wires and tighten them up.

Keep shotgunning parts at it. Eventually you will fix it.

GTXXpress, I hope that was a joke - otherwise it was dumber than a dumb thing.

with the symptoms you were describing i would have never thought it was the relay since it would start when you boosted it.

Maybe the additional voltage would help the relay trip.....
