Truck was running fine, went to start it and got nothing. Figured the battery was dead so I jumped it and drove to get a new battery. Went to start it and nothing! Didn't hear the starter clicking so I bought one of those too Installed it and same thing! It starts when I jump it but thats it! any one ever hear of this or know what it could be?

I had something very similar recently and I tried everything to fix it. The problem ended up being fixed after cutting off and replacing the positive and negative battery cable terminal connectors.
I tried new battery and starter as well and checked all the grounds until I finally resorted to replacing the terminal connectors and then it started right up.
Your ground cable may not be grounding good even if it seems fine and then when you hook up the jumpers it grounds off the other vehicle.

Yea Im not sure everything looks grounded the connector on the positive side is a little beat up but its never given me a problem this far. I think Im just going to rewire it all and see how it goes autozone told me I have to get the cables from a dealership. We all know how that goes $$$$ lol

I replaced my cables - from Autozone.....don't know why they cannot find it. And I would not put anything between battery and connector. Arc can burn off part of post in battery.
And check the ground where it bolts to block by ps pump. Gets corroded there as well. Dirty connection will cause enough voltage drop to keep from starting.
