Does this angle look okay to you guys? I've got 3" of lift and just curious if the angle is good. I need new balljoints, that's why im asking so I can mitigate any problems before hand. Thanks!

How did you go about getting 3" of lift on a 2wd? Did you have to change sway bar brackets and end links?

I put a 2" spacer lift on mine and my ball joints look to be stressed more than yours..I'm keeping an eye on them and thinking about changing the type of lift I have since it stresses out the components so much.

 

Well, Im actually running a "no-no" lift until I can afford the $150 Fabtech lift spring. I have two spring spacers. One on top, one on bottom. Both are at least 1.5". I haven't changed anything else though yet. Rides comfortably but in need of new shocks. Only thing I did was cut off the bumpstop cuz it was hitting.

 

I've read that a 3" lift will have the ball joint's at their limit's so you might always have an angle like that unless there is some kind of adjustable ball joint that would serve your purpose???

 

Well what I've been contemplating is fabricating an angled balljoint spacer, not for the spacing, but for the angle. I've seen it done, but if my joints are in correct alignment, then why worry. I just don't know what is the "right" angle. They don't look stressed, but I wouldn't know for sure.

 

Hey endisnear, you can take the top control arm unbolt it from the spring cup and take the adjustment holes and make them a little longer to pull the control farther out which would help the ball joint angle.

Is your truck aligned within specs or is it a as good as it gets kinda thing

 

Wow I never would have thought of that. Have you done it to yours? But I haven't had an alignment done yet.

It seems that way. Not sure. But either way, I would angle it which way I needed it. The top balljoint on my 2WD is on the bottom part of the control arm. So now im not sure how well this idea would work... I guess in a sense it would still move the control arm up and could possible be angled to correct the balljoints alignment....
