You sure you got all your plug wires routed correctly? If you get two plug wires switched it will act like this and the CEL will flash on and off...don't ask me how I know this...

Definantely sounds like you have a miss fire a lot of times it will not set a code, and it can really make a truck buck.....recheck wires and plugs and make sure there routed to the tsb.....I'm not sure where on the site it is but somebody else might chime in with a link

ok ill double check all that.. is there anywhere on here what tells u the volts/ ohms testing for the throttle postion sensor. and maybe is there away to find the ohms for the spark plug wires. even though new wires still be nice to check make sure there are not any bad ones.

TPS should be just under 1 volt at closed throttle, and over 3.5 volts at WOT.

Did you use an analog, or digital meter? Digital don't really react fast enough to give a good test.

tps. results.. key on engine off no throttle.. black to org/dk blue = .720 WOT 3.877 volts. volts climb smooth from idle to WOT no jumps or loss of voltage. max adj to 0.738 volts on idle. is there any other sensors i could test with this multimeter while i am barrowing my fathers. i used a fluke 16 multimeter. it is digital.

You guys realize that with some age also comes some wisdom. Don't jump to "conclusions" Testing this, testing that and ruling out the obvious cause "it can't be that simple!" I'm telling ya, If your computer doesn't have GOOD power, it will not run correctly. The computer gets "confused". Does it sometimes feel like your getting rear ended? Start to sputter like there's not a good spark? Slow, sluggish? How do you think it would run if the power for the comp is on, then off, then on (but less than the required 14 volts)? Humor me, check out those wires. Check resistance to ground while moving the wires around, etc. Check the main power @ the computer etc.

I think we (I...) need a recap of what all has been done so far. (I don't wanna re-read four pages.... )
