truck jumps out of 2hi and just grinds

how can i check 2 see if the shift lingage is adjusted upright?

Go thru the procedure in the service manual. Should be fairly easy, as it's all mechanical.

ok is that the manual i got in the truck?and ive been looking for a diagram of the inside the transfercase and i cant find any pics of 1 online anywhere! is the anyway my uncle could have put the rang fork in there backwards?

01 service manual is available for download in the faq section here. It will probably have everything you need. (01 is gonna be the closest in what is available for your truck.)

I don't know if it's even possible to install the fork backwards. I would think nothing would fit that way, but, I am not certain on that.

when i go to the faq section n search 01 service manual for dodge or just 01 service manual nothing comes up! but is the shift linkage on the inside or the outside of the transfercase?

thats what i told him but he swears it moves 24/7 but i still cant find the service manual no where and im really needing my truck going it bein my onli way of transportation! would it matter what gear it was in when i took it out n put it backtogether?it was in 2hi when i took it out and put it back together n put it back in my truck does that matter? cause when the tc is in nuetraul the outside shift is str8 up and in 2hi its kinda pointed 2 the front
