That sounds plausible. Never had one fail, but wouldn't that throw a brake light as well as cause a brake to drag?

I have no brake drag.
I think I will buy new quality Pads and go from there

Should I go Semi-Metallic or Ceramic ?

Honestly get anything other than the cheap crap. At Oreiley I usually get the mid grade of everything.

Update again;
Installed new quality Wagner semi-metalic pads.
Took for test drive, acted fine but the brake and anti-lock lights came on breifly and went off. Just got back from another test drive, lights camre on again and stayed on, perked truck turned off key for about 10 seconds and restarted it, lights went off and so far still off.
I don't really know much about the anti-lock brake system, so what and how do I diagnose the issue ?

2 or 4 wheel ABS? (check and see if you have front wheel speed sensors.)

Try downshifting instead of riding the brake...... yes, you can do that with an auto too...

I could do that, but there there is still an issue, with the grade I'm going down the brakes should not be getting that hot on any vehicle.
