Default No Overdrive

The Truck: 1993 Dodge W150 5.9 V8 4x4 w/A518

The O/D has never worked since ive owned this truck. Everything else does. I just replaced the motor and while it was out i noticed that the TC had been replaced and was dated From November 2003. Well the new motor is in and running great now i would like to address the O/D issue so here we go:

The issue: 3-4 upshift is not taking place. All other shift patterns are normal, it just will not shift into O/D

Trans was rebuilt in 2003, unsure of mileage on the rebuilt trans

Have checked:
FLUIDS - Proper level and nice clean red color

CODES - there are none (besides 12 and 55 which are normal). During motor replacement the computer threw a code for a faulty TPS which fixed some idle issues i was having but unfortunatly didnt help the o/d issue

FUSES - good

*O/D on-off switch illuminates but doesnt change anything when on or off

*Cruise control works

*Speedometer works so this would rule out the speed sensor correct? again no fault codes

*Temp gauge works so this would rule out the coolant sensor correct? I understand the SMEC may not see if it the temp sensor failed below 65* but the temp gauge works...

*OD selnoid-no code for malfunction (and i would believe rarely fail)

Any ideas?

Looks like maybe the trans was changed/rebuilt a few years back. Best guess would be wrong O/D/TCC solenoid set.

Is the 3 pin connector (w 3 wires going to it) located in the trans case above the rear drivers side of the trans pan the connector for the solenoids?

Think so.... you don't have the electronic governor... so, yeah, that sounds right.

You can download the 95 service manual from the FAQ's section here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-manuals.html, same trans you have.
Also you can checkout the video's for the trans rebuild here http://s809.photobucket.com/albums/z...ATSG%20Videos/.
