I wouldn't either. Thing is it's hard to know how well the brake pedal will work with a brick on the accelerator.
Need a helmet and a good stretch of empty road to test..... And possibly a change of pants......

I'm guessing they don't make a "custom" handle that has OD button on end...

Overdrive button is just a momentary switch, that suggests to the PCM that you don't want to use overdrive on this drive cycle. (unless you push the button again.) You could put a small switch for it anywhere ya want.

I thought that too...I wonder how it is the diy to reverse the od switch status on startup works then?

Trips a relay that controls the button circuit when you turn the key to start. Gives the PCM the signal it's looking for for the O/D switch, and turns it off.
