Question Custom Steering Wheel for a 98 RAM

How many of you have replace the factory steering wheel on a 98 or newer RAM with a custom one? If you did where did you re-locate the cruise control stuff to?

You are gonna have to figure out what to do with the driver side airing.

I'm not sure if it is even legal to remove the airing, if it is legal you might want to check with your insurance company to see if it will affect your coverage

I appreciate the concern.

Spoke with them already and since it is 14 years old now they don't really care. Stats show that by the time they get that old they can malfunction relatively easy. I had planned on removing the airbag.

Since they gave me the thumbs up I really only need to know if any one had done it and where they had relocated the cruise control controls to.

I dont think its a common thing someone would do....I have a missing airbag in my 96 and am looking to replace the column in the near future...If im not mistaken they are setup to test the airbag system on startup and give you a light if it malfunctions....
I'd like to know who your insurance company is? most would charge more if you just replaced the stereo or paint it red because it puts you in a higher risk pool...
I was always told it was illegal to remove any safety equipment put on a vehicle by the manufacturer working or not... so another reason Im skeptical the insurance company wouldnt have increased your rates just because you asked...
