Autolite is just a marketing name now...the wires are made by someone else and just rebranded btw...they are likely made by SMP or some other oem manufacturer

yup all those brands were bought by honeywell....

Its as close as you can get to selling knockoffs while still being legal..(Obama should be going after these guys for overcharging for the same chinese crap hes trying to block from entering the country without someone elses name and markup on it?) I mean whos screwing us more the guys selling cheap foreign crap as cheap foreign crap or these guys?

In a nutshell for the most part they Buy a company out, close down its production factories...lay off all but a handful of engineers (not needed so much anymore) because you have most of the patents and designs from the company you just dissassembled and then subcontract other companies to make the product using your specs...(in third world countries of course)
and finally sell to unsuspecting customers who thing its the same company thier dad and grandfather relied on. Its become the American way to get rich and screw your neighbor and country doing it....... Low

You got that right bud. Could not and didn't say it better myself. This freakin country is going to hell in a hand basket real quick. And vote for whoever you want, but since what I'm going through , I don't think it will make a damn bit of difference. Maybe if you have young kids(they might see something better), but in our life time I only see it getting a lot worse. Anyway, another discussion for another time. Hey, at least I'm free to do what I want right. LOL As long as I get a permit or pay tax to do it.

Another one to watch out for is General Electric. Except for their defense contracts, all other products bearing their name are manufactured by some other company, usually in Asia, who bought the right to use the label -- GE couldn't care less about the quality of the product or the workers in North America who used to produce it.
