Default decent radiator?

The top of my radiator is starting to bow up, like it's going to burst lol. Maybe not burst, but it's certainly not flat, like it should be, and fins are starting to seperate toward the top of it. Just noticed it bout a week ago or so. It's not running hot or rough or nothing, so I dunno what's up with it.

I've found radiators in town for 140 w/ lifetime warranty, but I also found this one online, for 89$ (http://www.genesisautoparts.com/prod...7086x1552a.htm). It would be another 11$ shipping to me, so grand total of just over 100$. Says it has a limited lifetime warranty. Would u chance it on the cheapo to save 40$, or go for the 140$ one, where if it fails, I can just go to the place in town to complain??

Being able to walk into the shop and talk face to face with a live human being does add a bit of value...... if you have the extra 40 bucks..... I say buy locally. See if they will price match?

That's really CHEAP dude. I got my Spectra Premium from AutoZone, paid just over $200 before taxes, it has a built in tranny cooler that I don't need, (have an aftermarket setup)

On the plus side the radiator swap has got to be the absolute easiest thing you can do to these Rams, it's crazy easy.

I replaced mine a couple months ago. Took less than an hour (except burping system).

Try Looking for coupons online for local shops. I just bought a radiator from advance for my buick for $100 after $50 off coupon. I just did a google search for Advance auto parts coupons and I think I found that one at Coupon Cabin. At any rate I ordered the thing online used the $50 off coupon and picked it up in the store later that day when I was ready to go in town. Got the cheap price with local service.

+1, a radiator is one of the parts I'd also get local. No matter the extra cost.

+2 on buying locally. on another note, would a diesel rad. work in a non diesel 1500? ive been thinking about doing this "upgrade" to enhance my cooling capabilities while the plow is hanging off the front of my truck.

Not sure about the radiator as being a prob, but as I've said, a bigger tranny cooler is what I'm doing next. I have a gauge, and it does not go above 100 in cold weather. As soon as I put the plow on(in the same cold weather) and drive any kind of distance with the plow on, the gauge reads 190 or better. And this is without doing any plowing. So screw that, I'm not going to wreck the tranny because of over heating.

ive already got an aux trans cooler. made sure that was the first thing i installed when i put my new tranny in back in 2010. the cooler i got was the biggest one etrailer.com offered and it was for a diesel. i dont think my trans ever gets overly hot...EVER! i also bypassed the rad cooler completely when i installed the aux cooler.

Without a temp gauge you really have no idea how hot the tranny is getting. Just sayin .
