Default 318 converter in a 360?

So Ive been chasing these misfire codes that only occur under load and causes a shudder when the converter locks up...It started when I got my tranny rebuilt...I have a crank position sensor on order and some mechanics say it cant be the cause and others say yes...(I think he could have damaged it when swapping trannies, The guy at the tranmission shop says no way...I've already done leak down tests and replaced injectors as well as wires plugs cap rotor and checled the valve springs which look fine (I havent yet ruled out a collapsed lifter or bad cam lob)
I recently discovered a cracked header on that side and have replacements on order...

Anyway I was wondering it their any chance the shop screwed up and put a 318 converter instead of 360 converter? I know the 318 was internally balanced and the 360 was externally balanced with the flywheel and torgue converter being weighted? If so could that cause a misfire code and vibration that only occurs under load and when creeping up to of away from a stop?
I just want to rule this out.

The flexplate would've been weighted, not the converter.

ok... thats what I thought but when you google it its unclear some statements imply the converter is different and one guy stated he did a conversion wrong and got a vibration but he didnt go into details..

Are you sure on that? I have been unable to come up with anything that gives the year the weights moved from the torque converter, to the flexplate......

Yes. Up through '95 the converters were weighted (meaning the 318/360's had the same flexplates). In '96 the weights were moved to the flexplate.
