Default abs and brake light on?

Okay so I have read alot about this and know there is threads about this but wanted to get everyones help. So i went to the automatic car wash today and then came home and parked the truck couple hours later went to leave and the abs and red brake light are on. They go off when i turn the truck off and on but once i start driving and hit the brakes they come back on. People have been saying there speedo is also acting up but mine is not? What is the sensor called and how difficult is it to replace? Can anyone give me instructions on how to do this? Also will it be okay to drive untill i fix it?

How do your brakes feel?

Might try cleaning the connector for the Rear wheel speed sensor. If that don't cut it, replace it. (you have RWAL, or 4WAL??)

RWAL = Rear Wheel Anti-Lock

4WAL = Four Wheel Anti-Lock.

To see which ya got, see if you have wheel speed sensors on the front wheels, if you do, then you have 4WAL, and things get more interesting.

4WAL will mean 2 wires to each front wheel. One for the caliper and one for the sensor.

The speed sensor is located in the top of the rear differential. It does double duty as speed sensor and ABS sensor. 98+ changed to this setup.

I just replaced my ABS/speed sensor and it started out the same way as yours and took a couple months for the speedo to start acting up. First it started to not work until I was doing 10, then 20, then 35, finally 40 mph. When you buy a new ABS sensor(and you eventually will), don't buy it from Summit Racing, even though they're cheapest. The connector points to the wrong side and you'll have to cut the harness from the frame and STEEEEETCH it across the axle.
