Default Steering Knuckle replacement?

Hi, I have a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 with the off road package, I need to replace the steering knuckle among other things, I found a 96 ram 1500 4x4, are they interchangeable? they look similar but different. any help would be great.

are you sure? i thought the 2000-2001 might be slightly different, due to dual piston calipers.

Oh, good point. I don't recall if the caliper brackets bolt on, or are part of the knuckle.

caliper brackets do bolt on. big heavy double L shaped brackets. big *** bolts torqued to about 150 pounds that require a big heavy *** long pull bar to remove.

Is that on both flavors? Is it possible to use the dual piston brackets on the older knuckles?

Did you fix the problem you were having? And what was it to begin with? Just curious.
