Default tire size question!

Okay so I have a 98 dodge ram 1500. I'm running 7in suspension and 3in body. 10in total. I'm running 38's with PLENTY of clearance. And I'm just wondering if anyone would know the biggest tire i can run. With very little trimming.

Anything over 35's on those axles is pushing it. They really weren't designed to tolerate the loads placed on them. Going even bigger is going to pretty much guarantee that you will break stuff on a regular basis. if you want to go bigger, you should do an axle upgrade first.

You'd want 4:56 gears too at least, no ?

In the realm of about 42-44" for no trim. That is approximate with respect to your question. Bunch of other factors go into that.

It only takes 1x to break something and figure shiz out....

Go with a set of Dana 60 axles and a gearset in the range of 5.13 to 5.60 if you want to run 40's or bigger
