That may just be the route to go

I run a Warn 9500 lb. winch on my truck, mounted on a Warn stainless grill guard. I run a Warn M8000 on my Grand Cherokee mounted on a removable mount. I also have a set of 2/0 AWG wires run to my rear bumper so I have the option of running the 8k winch on the rear of my truck.

Personally I will only buy Warn winches - I have three if you include the 2500# winch on my ATV. My old man bought a USED Warn 8274 winch when I was in junior high school and STILL runs it. It's on the fourth truck of his since he's had it. BTW - I'm 45 years old now. I HIGHLY doubt you'd see that kinda longevity out of a $399 Chinese made winch.

The M8000 is about seven years old and used to be on the front of my truck. It has been HEAVILY used when I cleared timber, opened up around my pond and made some ATV trails on my small piece of farm property in south Georgia and a few vehicle un-stucks. It's never so much as burped.

If you can afford the initial investment of the warn winch, yeah, I agree, that is definitely the way to go..... but, I can buy three of those cheap chinese fellers for the price of one warn........ and I am a lot more likely to be able to come up with the 300 bucks, than 1000........

I've been around winches for 30+ years and I've also seen a bunch of the Chinese ones around my hunting club in recent years, I'm just passing along my observations on workmanship and quality.

Now when I joined this particular hunting club in 1994 I'd say less than 10% of the guys had winches on their trucks and Jeeps - mostly Warn and Ramsey, maybe a Mile Marker here or there. TODAY I'd say that number is more like 50% and it's because these Chinese winches have made it possible for more people to have one. It's also forced Warn to come out with a series that is roughly half the cost of their "Premium" series winches.

It's like anything else, there is a REASON why some winches are $1000 while others that have the same rated capacity are $300. My advice is to get the best winch you can afford. But a Chinese made winch still beats having NO winch when you really need it...

On that, I will wholeheartedly concur.

I have a while to think about which warn winch I will go with.

now dont bash me to hard on this, But my two lights I got hooked up, I bought all the materials I needed when i originally hooked them up. (i crimped the wires together with butt connectors and used electrical tape, keep in my mind I have never done this before, Got them to work in the end on my own.
Well today i purchased my first soldering Iron, So tomorrow i was going to undue all my electrical tape and butt connectors and solder my wires together. I have watched my grandpa and dad solder wires for some time and I have watched videos on youtube, I feel confident that I can do it. but lastly I forgot to purchase shrink wrap, I was looking at it and I know i grabbed it but i must have set it down and forgot to pick it back up. Now living out in the sticks where i do. the stuff is more expensive. (do I spend more money now or wait a week to go back into the next town over to get the stuff cheaper)
decisions...decisions....

I didnt want to make another thread just to ask another question it still has to do with lighting.

I have gone through 3 of these L.E.D light bars, at 60 dollars a piece Im tired of spending the money on them for them to not even last me a year. First light bar, completly stopped working after 1 week, the second one I mounted a little too high told my friend not to put my tailgate down, so what does he do he puts it down and smashes it. the third one mounted dead on and within 2 months half of the light bar went out.

so my idea is to go to napa or someplace and buy 8 rectangle clearance/marker lights. mount two on the far left and two on the far right then possibly 4 in the middle. now my question is can I wire them all up to for when I have all my lights on and then when I hit the breaks, and can I have the two on the left and right side light up when I hit the breaks and blink when i use my blinkers, if its possible what would I need.
