Default ticking and truck dies once in a while

I've been having a ticking problem for a while know, I did a full fluid change on everything and know my truck dies once in a while. The ticking I'm thinking is something with heads? idk why the truck dies. the ticking goes away once in a while but for the most part its constant. Its starting to bug me and is time to fix any thoughts.

I wanna say that you forgot to put oil in the truck, but nobody does that other than the dudes at jiffylube. Make sure you got the right oil in the engine. And what kind of codes are getting thrown at you?

all the fluids are good I did all the changes in my service repair class for school. The funny thing is that im not getting any codes.

engine oil 5w30 mobil 1
tranny and transfer case atf 4
front and rear diff 80-90 casteral

the ticking was going on before the changes, the truck dieing is after and its only when I go from park to drive or reverse and thats once in a while.

engine oil 5w30 mobil 1

I think you want 10w30.... and synthetic is notorious for giving you some lifter tick.

ive used 5w30 sense i bought the truck and have ran synthetic sense who knows when never had a problem first time I used the mobil 1 gold extended performance though and i think it started after that or it was at least most noticable after that. Didn't think that could do it though? learn something new every day.

I had a ticking like that. One day it started to die similar to yours for a couple days. I replaced the crank sensor and the truck runs fine and the ticking went away.

Nothing, I pulled the 180K miles one out of my 98 and stuck it in the 78k miles 2000. So I don't want to spend your money.
