It is a PITA. Make sure that is the issue first. See what you have and post pics. We'll see what is going on.

so I got it out of the snow today....and drove it around a bit. Dont have time to pull the trans pan but in driving it around i put it in 4 low and reverse and as long as i dont press on the gas it will go backward. Does this point to a band adjustment or a burnt clutch??

Could be either. But at least it is not the strut or servo.

Best thing to do is try and adjust the band??
also on another note...when I start the truck the oil pressure gauge wont read anything after turning the key on and off a couple of times it finally has pressure. I want to chech the sending unit bit the manual just says its in the oil pressure gallery?? where is that?

Not sure where it is on a 01.

I would check band adjustment. I think you need an inch puond torque wrench if I remember correctly. ALso look for any debris in pan when you drop it.

Oil pressure sensor is on the back of the motor, right next to the distributor. (to the passenger side a bit.)

Pan looks good....as long as it is just gooey stuff on the magnet. Make sure there aren't any chunks.

And no, it should not be that far aeay from the servo. Something is out of place.
